Jean-Francoise “Papa Legba” Martín
Soft-spoken voice of reason and cooperation
Papa Legba has been in L.A. since Baby Doc drove him from Haiti in the 1980s. Thirty years in exile has done nothing to alter his passion for Voudou-practices and he remains respected among sleepers as well as awakened. He operates a 4 dot mystery cult, dedicated to the Loa and on the rooftop of the tenement building where he lives, they dance ecstatically around burning barrels and call upon the manifold aspects of the unreachable God. In the council he is a moderating voice, urging for cooperation with the free assembly – But not openly. He does not wish to skew the pentacle further away from balance but most times he sides with the rest of the ladder.
